About the Author

Winnie is a retired associate professor of special education from Southern Wesleyan University in Central, SC. She received her undergraduate degree from Mississippi College and Master's degrees from New Orleans Theological Seminary and Clemson University.

She is a frequent writer on missions and women's issues and speaks to women's groups, civic organizations, churches, retreats and educational groups.

Her travels have taken her primarily to undeveloped countries where she has served as an educational consultant, university teacher, missionary, speaker and humanitarian volunteer. Her writings have been the result of her work in these countries.

Winnie and her husband Woodie, emeritus professor of Clemson University, live in Clemson, South Carolina.
